A Shift In Focus

Authored by Justin Yuen on Oct 19th 2010, 22:31

After all this thinking of being sick, and now, beginning to feel better, I had a bit of an epiphany with my Mom, who has stuck by my side since day one: We need to stop thinking about being sick, and shift our focus to normal life. I'm now helping my Mom create a website for her project using Google Sites, and we've brought our conversations about hospitals and sicknesses to a minimum. Thinking negatively is a trap - there's no limit to it, and it's easy to get stuck. The good thing is, so is thinking positively; it's a bit more difficult to maintain positive thinking, but there IS no limit to it. So for me, it's back to work, though a lite version of it (using Google Sites is not exactly programming, but it does serve the same fundamental purpose as what I have been doing professionally.)

Everybody, thanks again for your support, and for helping me arrive at this latest realization. I feel better already!

Son, you are right. It's better to make your time productive and get your mind away from the sickness. You have a wonderful, caring mom by your side 7/24 and it's nice that you can do something with her and for her.All your friends and relatives will be thrilled to see your latest posting.Keep up with your positive spirit!LoveDad

If you need some good design suggestions, I know a few *cough* yiglet *uncough* websites that may have good inspirations :)

Justin,So happy to see you posting again... Designing a website - WOW!!!! Have fun creating and I hope you'll share your progress with all of us..... I've never met your mom but I am so glad she's there. There should be a couple of envelopes in the mail to you. I hope you'll get them in a day or so.....Get some rest and looking forwarding to read your next update.Laura

Justin-Fantastic! You are quite right - I need to follow your lead as I have been feeling depressed over my minor ENT problems. Your Mother did tell me about the web site she needs for her new school and I am glad you will be able to design this for her, sooner rather than later.I wish you were here in HK to "cure" my computer of all the stupid problems I cannot solve!!! Love to you, and Margaret too. A Ellie

Hang in there Justin-your spirit is infectious. Some of us have been helping your mom with her visions so thanks for helping her out. Your mom's friend, Mary Lee

Dearest Justin, I salute and admire your positive thinking - no limit to it. Keep it up and you will feel much better. "I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalms 121. God will be your source of strength and help. Thinking of you with love and prayers,Gu Ma Betty

Hey Justin... I am back online after a 8-day trip in the Mainland. Like you, the past week has been really tough. Actually, the past 2 months have been very tough. Work is going crazy, I have been traveling a lot and feeling really lonely, missing L everyday. Working like a dog everyday with no breaks and no weekends, working through lunch and dinner most days. But well, life goes on. Everyone has their problems in life and you are indeed channeling a lot of positive energy to all of us. We are all thinking of you and praying for you everyday. Thank you for all the inspiration. Love you loads.

Cooooool! A bunch of prayer warriors have just started praying for you. Keep fighting the good fight. I love some of your friends' comments. What is cough yiglet uncough????? Ellen ( not very PC literate)
