Just a quick update:
The new rooms in the hospital are very nice. They do not give the feeling of a hospital - more like an apartment with a spacious bathroom, shower included, and fake but convincing wooden panel floors. There are more power outlets throughout the room, making charging computers, cell phones, and IV pumps much more convenient. I haven't made much use of the large flat-screen TV yet.
Kaori, my girlfriend has moved to Connecticut and has spent a few days taking great care of me - I'm really the luckiest person in the world.
Still doing my best to eat throughout this course of chemotherapy - Managed to get some protein-rich egg salad sandwich and soba in today. Also ate some very delicious cookies which Kaori's family brought from New York.
Aside from that, things have remained pretty uneventful. The daily challenge of trying to find a comfortable position to sit / lie down remains, but I've been managing just fine. I'm living every day as a good day regardless of what happens, and even managed to help cheer up some of the people in the hospital who were not having their best days. Well, that's all for now. Will hopefully get back into the habit of writing good, thoughtful posts some time soon.
Good day/night everybody!
Hey Just-JustGlad to hear your new room is nice and that Kaori is taking good care of you. Thinking of you all the time. Praying for you!Love u loadsV
Just Just, it was great to see you posting again. You've always been so inspirational and I admire your courage in fighting this battle. Your new living space seems to be a much better environment.:) It's good to hear that you're coping with the new course of chemo. Please stay strong and positive always :) We'll keep praying for your speedy recovery. I'm enjoying my new course here. Actually waiting for class to start now. Met really great friends. We've been supporting and encouraging each other through this intense and tough course. In addition, it's great to be back in Hong Kong although I do miss London from time to time. Class is about to start now. Looking forward to your next post.
Son: It's great that you managed to walk around (yes, keep up with your exercises) and cheer other patients who were not having their best days. Like prayers, you can reach out and touch someone beyond self. We'll keep praying for you and hope this week's chemo will successfully shrink the tumor and kill off the cancer cells.LoveDad

Dear Justin, Glad to know your update.Taking good care of you. Thinking of you! riyo
Justin=Yes; you are indeed lucky to have Kaori's help in addition to your Mother's constant care and support. But most of all you are blessed to have your Faith and courage. As usual we are thinking of you. A Ellie
Hi Justin,Glad to hear your update. I've been thinking about it too and nice to know that you're feeling more comfortable in this new wing.Being able to reach out to others can help you just as much as the others, bringing a smile on their faces thru their pain can be priceless! Remember the film with Robin Williams being a clown and cheering the kids up in a stuffy hospital - I think it's called Peaches...For me, not much is happening. I've been taking care of my mom, Shirley. She is getting ready to visit Hong Kong again, but having some minor health issues. Will write more later - got to get going in order to get to the office on time.Thinking of you and I hope you'll be able to have some more good yummy food today!Laura
Yay for sharing your positive energy with other patients! I wish I could cook/bake for you!
This post seems a little short... could you be preoccupied with a new PSP?
Good to hear you're eating. Fake wood sounds better than no wood at all. No need to be mega inspirational all the time. Life's not like that! Just glad to have your news. Keep chomping! Love, Ellen
Dear Justin, So thankful to get your quick up date, you are so caring you have put us at ease knowing that you have got through another round of chemo. So happy that you had your Mum and Kaori to look after you, their love for you must have helping you to fight on and I am so proud of you that despite of your own severe discomfort you are cheering up other patients.Few minutes ago I received this article Friday, 5 November, 2010 16:52:12FW: God's RosebudFrom: Grace Ho <phoenixheight@hotmail.com> View To: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This could have been read before, it is a lovely poem to read again Subject: God's Rosebud This is beautiful GOD'S Rosebud A new minister was walking with an older, more seasoned minister in the garden one day. Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals. The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacherand was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry. But because of his great respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to try to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact. It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do. Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem... "It is only a tiny rosebud, A flower of God's design; But I cannot unfold the petals With these clumsy hands of mine." "The secret of unfolding flowers Is not known to such as I. GOD opens this flower so easily, But in my hands they die." "If I cannot unfold a rosebud, This flower of God's design, Then how can I have the wisdom To unfold this life of mine?" "So I'll trust in God for leading Each moment of my day. I will look to God for guidance In each step of the way." "The path that lies before me, Only my Lord knows. I'll trust God to unfold the moments, Just as He unfolds the rose." To let go and let God unfold your life. Dear Justin, So thankful to get your quick update, you have put us at ease knowing that you've got through another round of chemo. So happy to know that your Mum and Kaori were looking after you, their love must have helping you to fight on and I am so proud of you that despite your own severe discomfort you are cheering up other patients.Like the Chinese says "好樣的"Keep fighting!Love and prayers from Auntie Fei
