Gather In Memory of Justin

Authored by Justin Yuen on Mar 6th 2011, 21:28

March 12: New York
March 19: Hongkong

Justin wanted a party to celebrate life, in the same space that previously accommodated the heart warming fundraiser on his behalf. On Saturday, March 12, from 4 to 6 pm, we will gather at Salt Space, 1158 Broadway, 5th Floor, Manhattan, New York, to remember him. Lift your voice. Play your instrument. Share your special memory. Command the presence of the positive energy Justin left behind.

The memorial service for friends and family in Hongkong will take place at 11:00am on March 19, at St. John's Cathedral, Garden Road, Hongkong.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Justin can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY, and will be designated for the Music Therapy Program in his name.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the memorial services, but I have made a contribution to the Sloan-Kettering Music Therapy Program in honor of Justin. To all those who attend, please share a wonderful tribute to Justin and all of his talents.Wynne Myint, San Diego, California

I am also a young leukemia patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Though we never introduced ourselves, Justin and I often crossed paths on the leukemia floor of the hospital and in the waiting room at the doctor's office, and, always being the only 20-somethings around, greeted each other whenever we ran into one another. His warm greetings and cheerful smile made me feel much less alone as a young patient at MSKCC and I always hoped to run into him. I searched for his name, hoping to connect with him on facebook, when I found this blog and was saddened to learn of his passing. I am so sorry for your loss.Kailin; Brooklyn, NY

Hi KailinI am Justin's cousin. Sorry to hear that you are also fighting leukemia. Justin is a great inspiration and source of encouragement to us all and continues to be so. We wish you all the best for your fight and we will pray that God's mighty healing power be over you and bring you good health. We wish you a speedy recovery. Hope you will find strength from Justin's enthusiasm and wisdom contained in this blog. With best wishesVena
